About Ecom Cotton

Ecom Cotton’s merchandising roots can be traced back to 1849, when the company was founded in Barcelona, Spain. Although it began with the goal of supporting cotton imports for the Spanish textile industry, the Ecom vision gradually broadened to encompass the entire global cotton industry.

The establishment of a cotton office in New York City in 1885 marked the beginning of Ecom Cotton's international expansion. Over the years, its US headquarters moved to Savannah, Georgia, and then to New Orleans, Louisiana, before finally settling in Dallas, Texas. From there, Ecom’s cotton operations have expanded to Central and South America – primarily to Brazil, Paraguay, Guatemala, Nicaragua and Mexico.

With changes in production and consumption areas, Ecom has adapted to the demands of a global partnership with its clients and has established new operations in Australia, China and Tajikistan. Ecom Cotton handles over two million bales of raw cotton worldwide and has a local presence in almost all major cotton producing markets, including the United States, Mexico, Brazil, Paraguay, Australia, China, Central Asia, West Africa and India.
