Ecom Nigerian cocoa operations started in December 2005. Yara Commodities Ltd, based in Lagos, the economic capital of Nigeria and the most populated city in Africa, will soon export in their own name. Nigeria exports about 200'000MT of cocoa beans per year. Most of the production comes from the South Western belt, in the so called Yoruba land. Nigerian sundried cocoa beans are known to compete with the Ivorian quality. Based on our Ivorian experience, our long-term objective is to be present all along the supply chain and to assist the process of treating the cocoa beans in order to provide the best quality.
