Acquistion of Universal Commodities (Tea) Trading, Inc. to the ECOM Group

ECOM Agroindustrial Corp. Ltd. is pleased to announce that Universal Commodities (Tea) Trading (UCTT), will be joining the ECOM Group, marking an important step in expanding its global soft commodities platform and establishing its presence in the tea sector.

UCTT is a leading North American tea importer, connecting major tea growers worldwide with packers and specialty tea sellers. Founded in 1990, UCTT brings expertise across the tea supply chain, from sourcing and processing at origin to logistics, blending and delivery.

As part of this transition, Robin Lavooij, a seasoned tea industry executive with more than 27 years of international leadership experience in commodity trading and supply chain management, will join UCTT’s leadership team alongside Domenick Ciaccia, founder of UCTT, and Jem McDowall, Vice President of UCTT’s trading. Following the closing of the transaction, Domenick Ciaccia and Robin Lavooij will serve as Co-Chairs of UCTT, with Domenick continuing as President and Robin assuming the role of Executive Vice President.

Day-to-day operations, customer and supplier relationships, and UCTT’s commitment to service, quality, and partnership will continue unchanged. Together, ECOM and UCTT look forward to building on their shared values, complementary expertise, and long-standing commitment to serving customers and partners around the world.
